Stuck in the office, studying hard, finding a new family and enjoying life in Iquitos

Glynis here: It's been a couple of weeks since we have talked to Jacob, however, his texts and emails remain very positive. He is such a fan of President Parker and his wife! I know that he was worried about how a new mission president would be, but it's been a really good thing. President Parker relies on the English speaking Elders in the office to keep things running smoothly, so Jacob is feeling very needed, right now. His letter to us this week was quite short and there were no pictures sent to us. However, President Parker and his wife keep a blog going, so I've been able to "borrow" some pictures of the last training and leadership council meeting.
Dear Family,
This week was fine. I spent a lot of time in the office because my companion and his replacement are still training. The good news is that I got a lot of studying done. I have been studying in the Book of Mormon, the story of Alma and Amulek in the city of Amonihah. I read something that I never had thought about before, the conversion of Zeezrom. He starts out super antagonitic against Alma and Amulek, even calling them of the devil. But Amulek testifies to Zeezrom and he feels the spirit and begins to repent. Then after the whole city basically rejects the two missionaries, Zeezrom ends up getting baptized when he realizes that Alma and Amulek weren't killed. I really like reading about people´s repentance processes, it helps me to see that everyone can change, including myself.
We have been able to get out to work a little bit. We found a new family, a dad and his daughter, named Ramiro and Celeste. We taught them the restoration and Ramiro said it made a lot of sense and that they are going to pray about it. We had another appointment yesterday afternoon but when we got back to their house, they weren't there. Sadly, that happens a lot here. We´ll try to get in contact with him today and invite him to church tomorrow. Here´s hoping!
Anyway, that´s about all I have to say about this week, Love you guys!
