Paperwork, marriage, baptism! Working with members brings results. Life in Moyobamba is good!

Glynis here: It is always a good Monday when I hear from my missionary!!! He is doing so well, and we are all learning so much from him. In his letter to Timothy, he told us that the spiders in Moyo are bigger and worse than in Iquitos. That's got to be tough for my spider-hating son! Ah, growth! He tells his dad that the food is better in Moyo than Iquitos. He says that being on the mainland, and not an island means the food is fresher! He's been really lucky with meals on his mission. Each area has a pensionista that cooks for the missionaries. We were originally led to believe he would get one meal per day, however, in both his areas, the pensionista has cooked all 3 meals for the missionaries. His current "mamacita" is a non-member who is more active in the church than some of the members. She wants to be baptized, but has to wait for her partner to be divorced so they can get married before she gets baptized. Keep her in your prayers.
Greetings friends! This week was very interesting. My companion and I have become marriage planners... again! For me, this is the second time. Ha, ha! We have been going back and forth all over Moyobamba looking for the papers required for the marriage. It's been interesting! We finally have them all, so today, after P-day, we are going to go turn in the papers and set a date for their marriage, and BAPTISM!!! That's pretty exciting, if I do say so myself. This will be a baptism for 3; Consuelo, Vicente, and their daughter, Valentina.

Also this week, we have been following the advice of Predicad Mi Evangelio (Preach My Gospel), and we are working super closely with the members. We have been teaching the members, and then asking for references. But not only that, we ask them to come with us to their own referrals. That way, the investigators have friends in the Church. It's been awesome and we have gotten a lot of new people to teach.
At the same time, while we are training my new companion, I decided we need to take more initiative when it comes to inviting to be baptized. So this week, we have trusted in the Spirit more, and have been inviting people to baptism like crazy! We had 3 people tell us that if they receive an answer from God, they will be baptized. Now, Elder Martinez and I are doing all we can to help them get an answer, and to recognize it when it comes.
This morning, Elder Martinez and I decided to go look at all the cool places in Moyo. We went to this one place called, El Puerto de Tauishco. It's basically this big overlook into a jungle valley with mountains and a river. It was so cool! Then we walked down to the very bottom. It took about 20 minutes down these really cool jungle steps. It was amazing! I'll include some pictures of that adventure.
Right now it is raining so hard, but I'm imagining snow where you all are, and it makes me happy. I hope you all have a good week. Love you all!!
