A testimony of fasting.

Alan here, filling in for Glynis who is under the weather. Sorry you don't get her wit or wisdom this week, you'll have to settle for me. His letter is short, but definitely sweet! There's a couple of pics this week.
Hey guys, so not much happened this week but we did have a great experience that really strengthened my testimony of this gospel, and especially of fasting. So we have this family we are teaching, the family Lloja Ramirez, who is getting ready to get married and then later baptized. This week they had a major problem. So backstory, this family has literally nothing, the dad recently lost his job and the best the mom can do is sell little sandwiches from her house. They have been so receptive to the gospel because of their circumstances. We were walking on Tuesday, and they popped into our minds, so we decided to go visit them. We stopped by and the entire family is in tears. Five minutes earlier someone had knocked on their door and accused the dad of theft, that he had been renting a car and hadn't paid for three months. Renting the car was true, but they had been paying. He had a lawyer with him and a police officer and told them he had to pay 19000 soles or he'd have to do jail time. He was set up to have a hearing with a judge the following day. We showed up and they told us everything. We gave them each a blessing of comfort and told them to not worry about anything and to just pray for help. Right after leaving, I looked at Elder Martinez and was like, we need to fast! So we fasted for them. And in the following day, during the fast, they went to have their trial, but the other party never showed up. They spent hours waiting in the police station but the other party never came. They asked the police there if there was something against them there and the policeman said there was no accusation against them.
Guys I know that this church is true. I know that fasting and prayer really work and that the Lord loves this family so much, as do we. Honestly my testimony of fasting has grown so much and I'm so happy to be here in Moyobamba.
Love you guys a ton! Let me know how y'all are doing!
Sinceramente, Elder Neves
