Office work, plane tickets to purchase, investigators and a testimony!

Glynis here: We were lucky enough to get to talk to Jacob twice this week! Once on his P-day (Saturday) and once again on Mother's Day! What a joy it is to see him and to hear how happy he is! He continues to love working in the office, but he has picked up a nasty cold from sitting under the AC vents most of the day! Still, it's a small price to pay for what he is learning.

Dear family,

This week was great (just a little bit sarcastic here). We had to stay in the office a lot this week, because there are some people here working on repainting it and fixing some windows, and we couldn't leave them alone here in case something were to happen. So that was not too fun. Nevertheless, we did find some time to proselyte, and that was awesome! We contacted quite a while and found some great people!

On Sunday we were out contacting after church. We were actually looking for an investigator we used to have named Glover. We asked his neighbor if he had seen him, and were amazed to hear the neighbor answer in English! It turns out that he was from Canada. He moved here a few years ago to experience the jungle, and just decided to stay! We talked to him for about 10 minutes in English and he told us he'd love to know more about the church. The sad thing is, he actually lives in another area; he was just passing through our area when we found him. We got his information and told him that we would contact the missionaries in his area. Hopefully they will go and visit him.

This week we also decided to visit a recent convert named Jesus. We watched a video with him. It is one of my favorites. It is the video of Elder Christofferson's talk called "God's Will." It starts off with a gardener who comes across a huge currant bush while he is working. He prunes it down until it's almost nothing, and then he imagines to himself a voice coming from the bush. "How could you do this to me?" it asks. He replies, "I am the gardener here, and I know what I want you to be." As we watched that video, I felt the Spirit so strongly! When things happen to us that we don't quite understand, or maybe we question if God is really there, we need to remember that He is the Gardener here. He knows what He wants us to be.

I hope you all are doing well. I sure do miss you guys, but I love the work here. The Jungle is such a cool place and the people here need a lot of help.

Thanks for everything! I love you all a lot!

Elder Neves
