Even the missionaries can be taught, new investigators, and it's time for transfers!

Glynis here: Life is very busy for Jacob right now. It's transfer time in the office which means our Elder is responsible for around 40 flights, lots of missionary pickups at the airport, and making sure no one falls through the cracks. It's stressful, but he really loves it! When we spoke to him on Saturday, he was just getting ready to leave for a huge activity. It's like the State Fair, and it only happens once every few years in the Amazon. They were excited to get to browse through the local goods and see what they could find. I can't wait to see the pictures and hear what they saw!
Hi everyone,
This week was really good! Next week is transfers, so we've been up to our heads in work. Elder Argyle and I still were able to find time to get out and work in our area. I learned one of the best lessons about missionary work this week. I'm excited to share it with you all. So, last week was our zone conference, and there we learned how to let investigators go if they aren´t progressing. Sometimes, it´s not their time yet to receive the gospel, and we have to stop holding on to them. We then practiced it a lot. As we did the practices, I was thinking about an investigator that we have had for a long time that just hasn't been progressing. Her name is Cinthia. You might remember her; she is the girlfriend of an inactive member, and they have one kid. Every time we have gone, we have all felt the spirit really strong, but they just haven´t been keeping their commitments to come to church, or their appointments or to read in the Book of Mormon. We decided we needed to let them go. So, we went to their house and we explained to them that we love them and that God loves them, but that right now wasn't their time for the gospel. We explained that everyone has their time and that they need to put in their part just a little more. We testified of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the spirit filled the room. Daniel (the boyfriend) said that he feels like he just hasn't done his part and as we left we could tell that they were thinking a lot about what happened. It sounds sad, but honestly it helped a lot. I feel like they might come to church this Sunday.
We also taught the Book of Mormon to an investigator named Ramiro yesterday. We explained it to him and he understood really well. He said he felt something different and that he wants to learn more. We shared Alma 32: 28-30 with him. This scripture talks about faith and how when he feels it growing and a desire to learn more, it´s because God is pushing him a little towards the truth. It was a good lesson.
In the office we have been getting ready for the transfers, and that´s been crazy. President Parker wants to do it differently than how we've done it before, so I am learning new things but I think it will be good. Here´s hoping!
Love you guys a lot, feel free to send me an email or to ask me any questions if there´s anything you want to know about life here in the Amazon. I´m all ears!
