General Conference, doubling the efforts in the field, and seeing results

Glynis here: It is so wonderful to hear from our boy after General Conference. He sounds so motivated, and energized! We didn't get to talk to him this week, so we are looking forward to this week and a call with our boy!

Ok guys,

Conference was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved every second of it, except for when the power went out in the stake center and we missed a couple of the talks (We watched them later). But the overall theme I felt was "JOY" The gospel of Jesus Christ brings unspeakable joy, that is something I can definitely testify of, I have seen so many people who just become so happy while we are teaching them. You´ll see an example of this later on in my email.

I went into conference with 3 questions, and they all were answered, and I felt so much peace. I especially loved D. Todd Christopherson's talk; it blew me away. Also Elder Garret Gong's! To be honest, they were all wonderful.

This week, Elder Argyle and I made a definite effort to get out into the field more, and boy, we saw the fruits of it! First of all I would like to talk to you guys about one of our investigators named Ramiro. He is so awesome. We found him contacting, and what made him interested was the idea of eternal families. His son is currently in jail and he has been for about a year. On Tuesday we visited him and we gave him a baptismal date for November 2nd. He accepted, and was so excited to tell his son! Then on Wednesday his son had a trial, and was sentenced to 4 more months in jail. We visited him again on Thursday and he was a mess. He was so sad about it and was doubting his faith in the Savior. We told him that every time we are about to do something good, Satan tries to get us to not do it. We gave him a blessing and invited him to pray for comfort.

The next day we visited some more people, including a girl named Alexandra. She's 9 years old, and we are also trying to reactivate her mom. Alexandra accepted a baptismal date for November 2nd as well.

Then we visited Liz (The investigator from a long, long time ago). We explained to her the Sacrament and keeping the sabbath day holy, and she told us she also wants to get baptized, so we gave her the date of the 9th of October! So that is why my title says 2 and a half baptismal dates.

We are going to try to help Ramiro to be baptized maybe a little later. We will see how things go with him.

Love you guys!!

-Elder Neves

P.S. I'm including a picture of us at Conference with Hermano Denis. He is my favorite!
