Getting ready for transfers, saying goodbye to Elder Roper, and a long-awaited baptism.

Glynis here: We got a very quick call from our boy this week! He had great news... the office Elders were able to move into a new house! They were all very excited about it, as it is much nicer than the old place. He has promised pictures in his next email, so we'll see what he means by that. He also gave us some good news about his back. We are so grateful for all of your fasting and prayers on his behalf. He met with the area doctor, and they decided that he does NOT need to come home. His scoliosis has not changed enough to make Dr. Dowdle worried, so Jacob will continue on, wearing a backpack instead of a messenger bag! He also told us that when he went to the hospital for the x-ray, the technician kept trying to have him stand up straight. Finally, the technician said, "You are very crooked!" We all got a good chuckle out of that!
Hey everyone!
I don't have a ton of time to talk to you all. because today is going to be crazy. It is the last p-day before transfer day and we aren't really ready yet. Don't worry, we'll get it all together. We are also going to be moving today, so that will take a good chunk of the day.
This week was pretty good. My old companion, Elder Roper, is here right now because he finishes his mission this Monday. I'm going to miss him. He is pretty trunky right now, but I'm not letting that get to me. I took him around the ward yesterday, teaching a few investigators and visiting some members. I actually love my ward so much. Castañas is like the best ward in the city of Iquitos, in my opinion. The members are so nice and so helpful, and our bishop is like one of our best friends. Life is good.
Also tonight we will have a baptism finally!!!! His name is Jean Pierre, he is 28 years old and we've been teaching him for a while. He doesn't actually live in our ward boundaries but we have permission from President Parker to teach him because he feels more comfortable in our ward. After he gets baptized he will start attending church in his actual ward. Every time we teach him the Spirit is so strong! He always has so many great questions and that sparks revelation. Someone once said that a question isn't a doubt, but rather the source of personal revelation, and that is so true. Anyway, I'll send you some pictures of the baptism next week.
Love you guys a ton!

ps. I'm including a picture of everyone with their machetes, and me with my box cutter... that's a secretary's life!
