6 more weeks in Moyo, lots of new families, more weddings!

Glynis here: Well, it finally happened! Jacob was able to call home today!!! This was the first time, since the announcement, that he was able to call home! We used Google Hangouts, and it was awesome! I'm happy to report that Jacob is happy, healthy, and in love with his mission! He sounds wonderful!!! He is keeping busy with investigators, and in his down time he is teaching his companion, Elder Martinez, some English. I got to speak to Elder Martinez for a few minutes so he could practice his English. He thanked me for the tie we sent for Valentine's Day, and told me that my son is an "excellent man." So fun! Enjoy this weeks letter!
Hola mis queridos amigos y familia!!!
How are you all? Let me know how you all are doing, or if there is anything interesting happening up there. As for me, I am doing just fine. This week was transfers, but I didn't get a call, so I'll be staying here another six weeks. I am TOTALLY fine with that! I've found that I really enjoy Moyobamba, much more than Iquitos. The weather is much better! The people here a bit stiffer than in Iquitos, but we have been getting a ton of references from the branch here.
So, nothing much happened this week. We taught a lot of lessons, and we have some great people that are progressing nicely. The thing is, once again, nobody here is married. Seriously, nobody! It's hard to get them to commit to get married AND baptized, because they don't have money for a marriage. But we are trying to teach them to put their faith in God, and He will provide for the rest.
One family, in particular, the familia Vilka Olascuaga; they are a family of 6 that need to get married! The wife wants to, but her "husband" is a little uneasy about it. Keep them in your prayers so they will be able to take that step.
We also have Brother Wilmer Ancajima. Wilmer is awesome! He's this middle aged carpenter who's partner is a less active member of the church. They aren't married, but they want to. The problem here is that Wilmer has to get divorced from his first wife. They are working on it, though. We have some more families that also need to get married, but I won't go into too much detail.
Back to Wilmer, for a minute. He is the first investigator that I've had that has problems with the Word of Wisdom, or at least the first that has progressed enough that we got to that point with him. He drinks a lot with his friends and family. We were really scared to teach him that doctrine, because we didn't know if it was going to take out his testimony or not. We taught him the Word of Wisdom, and we invited him to live it. He told us it would be hard, but he's willing to do it. To help him avoid temptation, we organized a group from the Elders Quorum in church to play soccer every Thursday night. So, now Wilmer goes to play soccer at the church instead of drinking with his friends. That's pretty awesome.
Overall, it has been a pretty normal week. I'm happy, my companion, Elder Martinez and I are working hard and finding new people to teach. We aren't perfect, by any means, but we try our best. I hope everything is well with you guys.
Love you tons! I'll talk to you next week!

P.S. Just a couple of photos this week. One is me saying good-bye to an Elder from my group who got a transfer, Elder Horn, and a picture of the Catholic church in the Plaza de Armas.
