Family Home Evening in the dark, Zone Conference with an interview, and great news from an investigator.

Glynis here: We had a marvelous visit with Jacob on Thanksgiving! He looks all hot and sweaty, but happier then I have seen him in a while. He loves being back in the jungle! He loves his companion, and they are seeing success!
Hi everyone,
Ok, so this week was long but it also went by so fast. I can't really explain it, it is just a weird feeling. This week so many things happened, so I'll give you guys a few updates.
We had a noche de hogar (family home evening) with a member that lives at the very end of kilometer 14. He invited a few of his friends so we got a few references so that was good. The bad part of it was that we forgot our flashlights and our area is so so dark, so we walked back in the darkness. Pretty spooky, but we made it! (Jacob sent us a video of this. It was fun to hear him and his companion joking around as they traipsed through the jungle in the dark.)
Another highlight from the week was that we had our zone conference. There were 2 zones; all the missionaries in Ucayali (That's like the state Pucallpa is in). It was awesome to see President and Sister Parker again. Elder Veach played the piano and I led the music, and we also sang a special musical number Brillan Rayos de Clemencia, or "Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy." It was really awesome. I have grown a love for singing on the mission. Who would've thought, huh?
I forgot to mention that we had the visit of a Seventy. Elder Zeballos of the First Quorum of the Seventy was there and he chose 2 missionaries to have an interview with. And, to my surprise, he chose me! So I got to sit down with him and talk about the mission and anything else I wanted to. I asked him what is the best way to maintain spiritual growth after the mission, and he told me that the growth is in the small and simple things, and that if I keep up with everything I learned in the mission, my spiritual growth wont plateau like most people would think it would, but rather be an exponential curve. It was really awesome. He told me to surround myself with people who will help me continue to grow spiritually and that everything will go well. It was an awesome experience.
Another small miracle that happened was that we finally were able to get in contact with the dad of a family we are visiting. We've been visiting them for a while, and the dad, Jonatan, didn't really want to listen to us. We were walking down the street yesterday and we ran into his son, who told us he was home, so we booked it a few kilometers to his house and we taught him and his partner about personal revelation. We told him that our Heavenly Father is always ready to bless him and his family if they do what they need to do. We testified of the Book of Mormon and shared some personal experiences. After the lesson Jonatan was almost in tears, and he said we can come back to teach them. It was so awesome! I love those guys, and I pray that they will progress even more.
I am doing well, and I hope you guys all had a great week. Write me if you have any questions or if you just want to talk.
Les amo a todos!! (Love to you all)
Nos vemos, (see you)
