Difficulties getting investigators to church, a jungle family, and going on splits with the other Elders.

Glynis here: Jacob is doing very well! He's still loving his area, and hopes to stay through another transfer. He loves his companion, and feels like they are doing some really good work together.
Hi, everyone!
One more week down in the mission, this week was really good. Elder Veach and I have been working really hard in our area. I have noticed it is really easy to get new investigators, but it is really hard for them to progress just because it is so far from the church.
We have been finding some new families which is awesome. One of them has an interesting story. So, we got a reference of a family from a member named Neivi, we went there and the new family are named Gerardo, Milka, Enit, and Fred. Ha, ha, Fred! (Glynis here: Jacob has a grandfather and a cousin with that name!). They are really awesome, and guess what, they are from the Shipibo tribe in the jungle, which means they speak Shipibo! (Glynis again: This is something Jacob hoped for, to find someone who spoke the tribal language!) They spoke in it together while we were there and it was crazy, like just so weird, I can't even describe what it's like. Luckily they speak Spanish too. They learned it when they came to the city, so we have a way to communicate with them. They are really cool, and I have high hopes that they will progress. Please keep them in your prayers. They are the familia Mozombite.
Something else that happened this week is that I went on splits with someone else in my district. They are the other 2 Elders we live with, and they just aren't being obedient. Sometimes they wake up at 9:00 in the morning and they aren't doing their studies at all. I went out with Elder Velasco, and he told me he really does want to work hard, but he feels like his mission has amounted to nothing. He and his companion have been having problems. I sort of explained to him what a successful missionary is, and as long as he gains a testimony of Jesus Christ, then he had success as a missionary. I hope it helped him, he really works hard. I think it's just that his companion gives him excuses to not put in 100%. But yeah. (Glynis again: This is frustrating to Jacob, and he told us he's so grateful to have been blessed with companions that want to work.)
Our area is so awesome! Every time we just walk through it I just can't believe how crazy it is. Lately, we've been finding a lot of those little poisonous tree frogs, the teeny yellow ones. So cool! The sunsets in our area are incredible, as are the stars.
Anyways, I hope you all have a good week. I'm so excited for Christmas!
Nos vemos!! (See you)
