A baptism, his first illness, and a zone leaders conference.

Glynis here: No pictures from Jacob this week. He is still enjoying the office work in Iquitos. I think he mostly enjoys the air conditioning! We are looking forward to a long visit this Sunday on Mother's Day! Thank you all for your support and prayers for Jacob. It's odd to think how quickly the time is going by. Jacob has passed the 9 month mark.
Buenas tardes mi querida familia y amigos,
This week started off with a baptism on Saturday! We baptized a lady I had only taught a few times named Melita. She´s the wife of a member and she had always refused to hear the missionaries. Well, she got baptized finally this week! From what I remember the baptismal service was great! Unfortunately, I was only there for the first 10 minutes and then I felt like I was going to throw up, so my companion and I went rushing back to the office. Once there, I passed out on the couch for a while. My companion gave me a blessing, and after that I felt so much better.
I am so grateful for the priesthood, and what God can do. What I love about the priesthood is that it cannot be used to help yourself in any way. It is used to bless the lives of the people you love, and to help others come unto Christ.
So this week was also Leader´s council. That means all the zone leaders from all over the mission fly back to Iquitos to give a report and to talk about ideas to make the mission better. It was awesome to see my old companion, Elder Sindayen, again. He´s so funny! His Spanish is kind of weird, now that I listen to it again. It´s like a mixture of Spanish, English, and Tagalog. The cool coincidence is that he is with Elder Newell right now as zone leaders in Pucallpa.
In the Council, we talked about goal setting and how to help missionaries that are feeling depressed. It was a great conferenceI I loved it a lot! It did mean I had to buy a TON of flights for them all. Also, President Li will be going home soon so I'm also currently buying a ton of flights so he can go around the mission to say goodbye to everyone.
Overall, I'm doing great. I finished the Book of Mormon again in Spanish and it was awesome! I know it´s true.
Love you guys ! I ca't wait to talk to y'all next week!!
